Text Assist - Title: Text Assist Description: WP7 does not currently support SIM Toolkit (STK). This application replicates the convenience of using a menu/data entry screen provided by STK instead of the user keying the keywords and sending these via SMS to avail of SMS based service (i.e. joiing contests, downloading games etc). Business Value A user can configure the application with the keywords and parameters for a VAS. This enables the user to use SMS based service of their network without remembering all those keywords. The network provider will be able to get users to use their numerous services without burdening the users. Telcos can provide "feeds" to add/update keywords to this application. The television networks can provide a "feed" for their interactive SMS promos to free the user from remembering the complicated keyword syntax to join the SMS games. The user can also track his usage of the various VAS he has availed through the application. Solution: The user navigates through the menu of services he configured on the application. This application would display a data entry screen that corresponds to parameters for a SMS keyword of a VAS he chooses. For example, REG name/age/address can be represented on the screen as labeled textboxes where the user can enter the parameters. The application will be responsible for assembling the inputs to the right syntax and sending this to the correct number via SMS (with user consent). The application is configurable and can support multiple keywords. It will display the appropriate prompts based on the configuration associated with a chosen keyword. It will also provide a convenient way to search for services. The user may choose to download the configuration file over the web (i.e. from a telco or service provider) or can manually configure this via a provided UI also available on the phone.
